Questions anglers ask

What is Fisherfeed?

Fisherfeed is a free fishing log app that runs in the browser. Tap Log and it stamps the spot, the time and the weather, then suggests the species from your photo. A 7-day fishing forecast and a map of your spots sit beside the log.

Is Fisherfeed free?

Yes, Fisherfeed is free: logging, fish ID, the forecast, the map and the boards. There is no paid tier, and no plan to sell your catches or your data.

What does it record when I log a fish?

One tap stamps the spot from your phone's GPS, the date and time, and the weather at that hour. Add a photo, the species, length and weight, and each figure notes whether it was by eye or measured.

Can it identify a fish from a photo?

Yes. Photograph the fish and Fisherfeed offers its two most likely species out of 866, with how sure it is about each. Pick one or type your own. Nothing is applied without you.

Will other anglers see my fishing spots?

Only if you choose. Each spot is shown to everyone or kept to yourself, and a catch you share can keep its exact spot hidden. Your private marks are only ever shown to you.

Does it work on lakes, rivers and dams?

Yes. Fisherfeed works on any water in any country: the sea, surf and rocks, estuaries, lakes, rivers and dams.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Fisherfeed runs in the browser on an iPhone, an Android phone or a computer. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

What does the fishing forecast show?

Seven days, hour by hour, for any spot: wind and gusts with their direction, air temperature, rain, sunrise, sunset and the moon. On the coast it adds sea level, modelled rather than taken from a tide table.

Can my club run a fishing competition on it?

Yes. Anyone on Fisherfeed can start one, open to all or invite only, scored on the biggest fish, total length or weight, or most species. Entries come from logged catches, and anything that does not add up is held for the organiser.

Stay on the water

I kept losing the details: which tide, which wind, how big, exactly where. So I built the log I wanted. It is free, and your catches are not for sale.
